Less stress by planning ahead with StreamRoutine
@JackJocoseTV talks about keeping stress low and hitting that go live button
If you're a streamer, you know the drill: you're all set to go live, and hitting that 'go live' button feels like lifting a hundred-pound weight. I've been there, and so have many of my fellow streamers. But why does this happen, and more importantly, how can we overcome it?
The Pre-Stream Stress Syndrome
Streaming, at its core, is a performance. And with any performance comes a bit of stage fright. It's perfectly normal. This 'pre-stream stress' can manifest in different ways - procrastination, anxiety, or even outright skipping your streaming schedule.
Why Does It Happen?
Several factors contribute to this stress. For one, there's the pressure to entertain and engage your audience consistently. Then, there's the fear of technical issues, like poor internet connection or equipment failure. And let's not forget the ever-present worry of not meeting our own expectations or those of our viewers.

Combatting the Stress
Preparation is Key: Just like any other performance, the more prepared you are, the less anxious you'll feel. Have a clear plan for your stream - know what games you'll play, topics you'll discuss, and any special segments you might include.
Routine Helps: Establish a pre-stream routine that helps you relax and get into the right mindset. It could be as simple as a five-minute meditation, stretching, or enjoying a cup of your favorite beverage.
Tech Check: Do a quick tech run before going live. Ensure your internet is stable, your mic is working, and your streaming setup is in order. This reduces the fear of technical glitches.
Remember, Perfection is a Myth: Not every stream will be your best, and that's okay. Embrace the imperfections. Sometimes, the most memorable moments come from unplanned situations.
Engage with Your Community: Building a supportive community can alleviate a lot of pressure. When you have viewers who enjoy your content for who you are, it takes off the weight of constant performance.
Take Care of Yourself: Streaming should not come at the cost of your well-being. If the stress is overwhelming, it's okay to take a break. Your mental health is paramount.
Every streamer, at some point, faces the challenge of pre-stream stress. It's a part of the journey. But with the right strategies, you can turn those jitters into excitement and continue to thrive in the streaming world.
Happy streaming!
